The purpose of this blog is to list the children who commit suicide or are killed because of their sexual orientation, or their perceived sexual orientation. The various professional religious hate organizations out there are fond of telling everyone how they are being victimized because their religious beliefs apparently force them to hate LGBT people. But what about the rights of these children who really pay the price for their attempts to institutionalize their bigotry and hate?
That's what this admittedly depressing site is going to try to do. Remind these people that hatred does have a price. You don't get to go around proclaiming "Protect the Children!", while contributing to their deaths.
I'm talking to you FRC*, AFA*, NOM, CWA*, ADF, FOtF and so many others.
* These groups are listed as hate groups by the SPLC.

Aiden Rivera Schaeff
Meet Aiden Rivera Schaeff. Aiden was 17 years old, just one month shy of his 18th birthday when he committed suicide on April 22 of 2010. Aiden was female-to-male transgendered, and had begun his transition in high-school.
According to one of his best friends, Ava, he had endured constant bullying in high-school, until he finally dropped out two months into his senior year.
Said Ava in her It 'get's better video' in his honor: "I know that there are a ton of people out there, who like Aiden, they're amazing and just beautiful, and they're loved, and they can't see it because they have to deal with so much hate every day."

thanks for writing this up on aiden! we all miss him and are approaching one year to this very, very sad day.
ReplyDeletei feel you lost him, and i agree people that feel so much pain cannot see the love others offer to them. and its not fair he had to die that so tragic and shouldnt have happened, i should know about that hatred and pain as i have felt it in depression and still am as i feel that i hate my life. but there should have been people to help him as my friends would help me even if i spiked up at times they still helped me.
